Recent Report on the Hydrothermal Growth of LiFePO4 as a Cathode Material

Various growth processes have been utilized for the development of lithium iron phosphate including microwave treatment, spray thermal decomposition, sol-gel and hydrothermal route. However, process suffer from high costs difficulties in controlling parameters. In this review paper, recent synthetic strategies, raw materials phosphate, their effect on basic characteristics and, as a consequence, electrochemical performance cathodes, are reported. The advantages process, material stability, eco-friendliness, low production abundance, explained along with respective processing parameters, which can be easily tuned to modify such structure, morphology particle size. Specifically, we focus strategies that were applied last three years improve stability cathode utilizing carbon-based materials, N-doped graphene oxide multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), addition metallic nanoparticles silver. Finally, future perspectives discussed simultaneous powders solid-state electrodes (i.e., rigid substrate) improvement orientation its establishment standardization energy storage materials.
